Despite its Tolkien-inspired name, Earendil is not a tech company with fascist tendencies. Quite the opposite. They are basically well-meaning hippies in my book, who think software, and specifically AI, should serve humans, not the other way around. In their view, software should not replace humans, it should enable them. Like many companies, they have a charter outlining their values. I contributed a tiny amount to this charter. I align with it, even though my old grumpy cold heart still needs to warm up to the Kumbaya wording.
